Magpie Swooping
October 17th, 2009 by bazza
Today i went out for a bike ride and I was faced with a problem that many Australians have during the Spring and Summer months. Magpies Swooping. Why do they swoop at bike riders and people walking past? How do we stop them? Well Magpies swoop because they think people are going to harm their eggs. My mum walks almost every day of the week. The way she solves this is by waving a stick above her head when she finds some in the trees and she also takes our dogs which bark at the when they try to swoop her. But bike riders can’t hold a stick above their heads while riding their bike for their whole trip, well i can’t. Without killing the magpies like some of my mates at school would do if faced with this problem, i came up with by looking on the Internet is to put cable ties on your helmet. To test my theory out i went back to the spot where i was swooped and the magpie didn’t bother me! So hopefully I can enjoy riding my bike without getting swooped now

Global Hand Washing Day
October 11th, 2009 by bazza
- Why would there be a global hand washing day?
I think we have a Global hand washing day to teach everyone about hygiene and how to wash their hands properly.
- What purpose would it have?
It would help keep everyone clean and stop diseases from spreading
- Write about good hand washing practise – what is hand washing, why hand wash, where…., when…
You should wash your hands after you have been in the toilet, when your about to eat and when you come inside.
Hand washing is when you get soap and water and wash your hands.
Go to the official Glabal Hand Washing day website at… http://www.globalhandwashingday.org/

Picasso Cow
September 16th, 2009 by bazza
Yesterday I went to the Warrnambool Greyhounds to see the presentationof the Picasso Cows that my school was involved in. Over a few months our class and some others had to come up with a design for our cow and make a PowerPoint presentationof the work towards putting it all together. We play “Are you smarter then a fifthgrader” which the teachers participated in, a student representativefrom each school got up and had a quiz against each other. Then we had the ceremonyof the first, second and third placed cows. Warrnambool East Primary School won the best cow. They gave us a packed lunch with a Sndwich, Apple, Yogurt, Cheese Stick and a Big M. Over all I learnt a lot about the Dairy industry and I had fun preparing the project.

We just talked to a school in Claret, Manlia. These are the things they said
- Its is very hot in the Philippines.
- They only have one uniform because it is so hot.
- It was 28 degrees there.
- There English was pretty good.
- They had 40 boy students in there class.
- They were not aloud to bring electronic devices.
- They start school at 7:30.
- They finish school at roughly 2:30.
- It’s an all boy school.
- They eat pizza and rice at lunch.
- They asked what we had for lunch and about our school uniform.
- 3rd largest school in the world.
I enjoy doing this kind of work in ICT because I learn a lot about other countries and their cultures.
