How do I know the olympics are on?
August 21st, 2008 by bazza
I see ……
- pictures of the swimming and athletics in the newspaper and
- highlights of the day about the wins for Australia on the TV.
I hear…….
- the faint cheer of the crowd all the way from Beijing.
- nothing as the gun is about to blow before the start of the race.
I feel ……
- the excitement in the air from everyone.
- The disappointmentfrom Australia’s fans when we miss out on gold.

Project with Hollywood
August 20th, 2008 by bazza
Our class is doing a project with a school in Florida. The project is to take a photo of the same thing every month and post it on our blog ( Techno6). The project has been postponed because of hurricane Sue. The class has not been to school because of this. The photos will show the changes in the months and seasons of the year. The project will go on for 1 year and will have to do it when we are in year seven. Our photo is of our tea house and all the beautiful flowers that will blossom as the moths go by. the change wont be seen as much as ours for the school in Florida because they are very close to the equator.

For our latest project I am doing The Kokoda track. I’m going to do a power point that i am almost done with and I’m going to bring in a movie for the class to watch on the Kokoda track and also going to bring in my Great Pop’s medals from WW2 that he got from being a cook in Pupa New Ginni. My teacher says that my power point has a lot of information. I think that my project will go very good and i will get a good score. I will post my results when i get them.

21st century classroom
July 29th, 2008 by bazza
Describe some of the slides she presented.
She had a slide of an aerial shot of our school and she wanted to know what trees koalas eat and live in. She also wanted to know how big our school was.
Discuss some of the questions she asked us.
She wanted to know what was cricket and football and how to bowl a cricket ball. She also wanted to know how long a game of cricket went for.
Which questions surprised you most?
What a meet pie was because I thought that America would have eaten a meet pie before.
Did you learn anything new during the session?
I learnt that she is an ICT teacher like Mrs Murchan and that they have there summer holiday at the moment.
Do you think we accurately portrayed a glimpse of life at our school and local area? Why?
I think that we did because we had different kids coming up and telling her stuff all the time.
What about a glimpse of Australian culture? Why?
Maybe not as much as our life but I thought that she would have learnt a lot about our way of life.
Do you enjoy being in a virtual classroom. Justify your reasons?
Defiantly because I really love talking to other people from different countries and I love meeting new people.
What skills do you think we need to develop and improve upon to successfully participate in such a class?
Learning to not make as much noise so that the person that you are talking to can hear you better.
Can you see this as being the classroom of the future? Why or why not? Would you like it to be?
Yes so that teachers can learn from each other more and it would make it fun to learn the way other people from other countries do.

Dentist
July 25th, 2008 by bazza
Do you know how every kid in the world has that one fear. Yep that’s right the dentist and I had to go to one last night! The scary feeling of getting things stuck into your mouth and not being able to swallow because you have sharp things in your mouth. Sometimes it’s good news and you don’t have to go back for 6 months but not me I have to go back in 2 weeks to get seals in my adult teeth! This might not sound that bad but my friends have got me worked up about it and I’m kind of scared. But I guess it’s not that bad so kids, look after your teeth not that I don’t though. I always do but I guess I just got bad luck time time around!
